Artist's Statement
Bev Steigerwald creates contemporary classic, bronze sculptures inspired by treasured times and places, bringing the past into the experience of today.
Her subjects are male and female, all ages and races. Many of her sculptures feature two or more figures interacting. Bev seeks to express the spiritual, creating an atmosphere of serenity and peace while reflecting our human experience. Thus, the viewer is encouraged to look beyond the obvious. The nude bronzes are graceful, and the draped figures show a true understanding of the form beneath. The use of texture allows light to play across the bronze in changing patterns. Sizes range from six-inch tabletop bronzes to seven-foot outdoor sculptures.
